Spending the Holidays in London? Here's a Few Stops Not to be Missed


'Tis the season for many people around the world to spend time shopping, celebrating, dining out, traveling and generally spreading good cheer on a daily basis. If that alone is not reason enough to love the holidays, I don't know what is.

The Biz Mommy family won't be traveling this Christmas, as we just came back from a Thanksgiving trip to Michigan, but we are indeed travelers at heart. My husband and I haven't traveled abroad much since we had our children, but parenthood hasn't stopped us from embarking on a few local mini-trips and regaling the kids with stories about our pre-kid traveling adventures.

Field Notes Are My "I" Pad - Inspiration

I don't have an iPad or a laptop.  My smart phone is very slow and packed with apps my kids have downloaded.  I have a tablet but I use it just for reading books.  So, taking notes while on the go was a trial until I got my "Ambition" pack of  Field Notes.  Sometimes old school is just the best option.  In this case it's also the most handsome.

It's sort of amazing how sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. This is never more true than in the world of visual art and decoration. A splash of paint here, a strategically placed sculpture or piece of furniture there - these things can take a room from so-so to sensational in mere seconds.

Wallpaper has the unique ability to completely transform a space because it surrounds the room and transforms it into a world all its own. Now, this might sound like an overstatement if you're just thinking in terms of plain, solid colors or simple patterns such as stripes or flowers. But what if you walked into a room and it felt like you were entering another world, or at least another city or country?

The Long Night: Saving Girls from a Tragic Life Less Ordinary

This is not an easy post for a mom blogger to write. For the most part, we blog about fun, educational and entertaining things to do or products to try that might in some way be useful to our kids, families and communities. I'm not saying that we exist in a bubble, but for many of us moms, blogging is a passionate, yet light-hearted foray into self-expression via the written word.
